A House Made Of Sand

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Sandcastle Contest,’ the other afternoon.

This children’s book was written by Robert Munsch and is beautifully illustrated by Michael Martchenko.

It’s a delightful children’s picture book that tells the tale of a young boy called Matthew and a sandcastle contest.

When Mathew went on a camping trip with his family their first stop just happened to be close to the beach.

Down on the beach he saw many people making statues and castles out of sand for a contest.

Excited he decided to enter.

Personally, I think he only entered to try and win the prize, a bathtub full of ice cream, yummy.

Using all his skills he created a house, a sand house, a house made out of sand.

Wow, how cool is that.

But with the judges believing it to be a real house how will he ever convince them that it’s really made of sand!

To find out what happened next to Matthews sand house, why not read the book or with parental guidance or permission watch the story on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think.

It’s a great book for young children that encourages imagination and creativity especially when making sand castles.
