I read the children’s book called, ‘Up and
Down.’
This children’s book was written and illustrated
by Oliver Jeffers.
It’s is a delightful children’s picture
book that tells the tale of a boy and his friend, a penguin.
Usually inseparable, penguin decides
that he wants to try something on his own.
Fly!
But with only little wings he knows he
cannot get off the ground without a little help.
With the help of his friend they look
for other ways that could assist him to fly.
Then penguin finds what he’s been
looking for and leaves without telling his friend.
The boy’s lonely without the penguin
not knowing where he’s gone, and as the penguin prepares to take his first
flight, he too is missing his friend.
And as the penguin is fired from a
circus canon he doesn’t know how he’s going to land.
It has a happy ending fortunately as
the boy rushes to the circus tent, just in time to see his friend fly and to
catch him as he falls.
Why not read the book or watch it on
YouTube, then you can tell me what you think?
It’s a great book for young children
that encourages friendship.
