I read
the children’s book called, ‘The Ugly Five.’
This
children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel
Scheffler.
It’s
a delightful rhyming children’s picture book about the ugliest wild animals
that live on the African plain.
One
day when the lion, kudo, rhino, zebra, flamingos, and tiger were enjoying the
morning dawn they meet an unusual creature that looked ugly to them. It was a
wildebeest.
But
the wildebeest wasn’t fazed by their comments and continued walking along
singing a song.
Eventually
she meets other wild animals that believed that they too were ugly; a hyena,
vulture, warthog and stork, and so they started a crew, called the ugly five.
It’s
a great book with a beautiful ending.
Remember,
no matter the appearance, all creatures are beautiful.
It’s
a great book for young children that encourages friendship and love.
