What The Jackdaw Saw

I read the children’s book called, ‘What the Jackdaw Saw.’

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Nick Sharratt.

It’s a delightful children’s picture book, that’s written also in sign for deaf children.

The story tells the tale of a Jackdaw and what he can see.

When the Jackdaw flies over the seaside, farm, town, forest, he names all the animals he can see and invites them all to his party.

Everything’s going well until he flies into a thunder cloud, but then everything turns black and he bumps into a tree.

So, what happened next?

Will the Jackdaw still have a party?

What do you think?

To find out what happened to the Jackdaw, either read the book or watch the story on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think.

It’s a great book that all young children will enjoy. It encourages friendship and the learning of sign language.

It also puts a fire out, saves some fish, and then flies home for the children’s bathtime.

It’s a lovely book to read especially at bedtime.

So, why not take a peek and read the book or watch the story on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think.

The Ugly Five

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Ugly Five.’

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful rhyming children’s picture book about the ugliest wild animals that live on the African plain.

One day when the lion, kudo, rhino, zebra, flamingos, and tiger were enjoying the morning dawn they meet an unusual creature that looked ugly to them. It was a wildebeest.

But the wildebeest wasn’t fazed by their comments and continued walking along singing a song.

Eventually she meets other wild animals that believed that they too were ugly; a hyena, vulture, warthog and stork, and so they started a crew, called the ugly five.

It’s a great book with a beautiful ending.

Remember, no matter the appearance, all creatures are beautiful.

It’s a great book for young children that encourages friendship and love.

So, why not read the book or watch the video on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think?

The Troll

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Troll,’ last week.

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by David Roberts.

It’s a delightful children’s picture book that tells the tale of a troll and some pirates.

It’s a hilarious story about a troll that lived under a bridge and pirates that lived on a pirate ship.

Trolls liked to eat goats, but unfortunately no goats ever walked over this trolls bridge so the troll had to eat fish instead.

Now fed up with eating fish he wanted to eat anything but fish.

But when he finds creatures to eat, they all tell him about the goats on the next bridge, following their advice he goes from bridge to bridge in search of these goats.

The pirates on the other hand had a treasure map but after digging for the treasure on numerous islands they realised that either the map was wrong, or they’d forgotten which island the treasure was buried on. Also, they too were fed up of eating fish.

So, what do you think happened when the troll and the pirates met-up?

To find out you’ll either have to read the book or watch the video on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think?

Sugarlump And The Unicorn

I read the children’s book called, ‘Sugarlump and the Unicorn.’

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Lydia Monks.

It’s a delightful rhyming children’s picture book about a rocking horse called Sugarlump and a magical Unicorn.

When Sugarlump wished to be out in the big wild world instead of a children’s bedroom a Unicorn grants him his wish.

How wonderful, Sugarlump found himself out in the big wild world living in the countryside as a farmer’s horse, but as the work became too hard he began to wish again.

He wished that he could gallop and became a racehorse with lots of jumps instead, and so the Unicorn granted his wish, but alas the jumps became more difficult so he wished he could dance instead.

That wish came true and now he appeared in a circus dancing show, but he was sad when children cheered and so he wished he was back at home instead.

It does have a happy ending but to find out what happens in the end you’ll either have to read the book or watch the video on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think?

The fairy queen intervened to teach Freddie some rules in speaking, so Bessie-Belle could then understand the words that he was speaking.

Now Freddie’s happy now that all his wishes have been granted, but if he’d used one to help the fairies hearing, maybe he’d have got his wishes sooner.
