Would You Rather Meet A Real Alien?

The question is, “Would You Rather Meet A Real Alien?”

I read an article that stated that a signal had been picked up from a red dwarf star.

Known as Ros 128, its location is approximately 11 light years from Earth.

The signal was picked up on 12^th May 2017 by a huge radio telescope, the Arecibo Observatory.

This telescope is built inside a sinkhole in Puerto Rico.

The star was observed for ten minutes, when the signal was picked up.

Now I assumed that telescopes were to spot or look for alien life forms, but not only do they look for aliens, they also look for distant galaxies and asteroids.

With that said, when an alien transmission was mentioned, it was dismissed as a human made satellite. Now I feel like I’m back in the 1960’s.

Surely, it’s about time the record changed on that one.

If there’s proof other species exist other than the birds and the bees, then we should all be made aware.

Cos for me Sci-fi movies are great to introduce alien species, but I’d rather meet the real thing.

But hey, I’m no Astronomer, what do you think?

The Magic Hat

I read the children’s picture book called, ‘The Magic Hat,’ the other morning.

This children’s book was written by Mem Fox, and illustrated by Tricia Tusa.

This children’s book tells the delightful tale of a magic hat.

When the magic hat appears in a town and lands on a person’s head it instantly transforms them into an animal.

Fortunately, a wizard appears in the town and puts a stop to the magic hat doing any more damage.

But can he turn the towns people back into people again or will they remain as animals forever?

What do you think?

It’s a lovely story that young children will enjoy as they guess what animal the person will turn into.

Can We Ease Climate Change with Geoengineering?

The question is, “Can We Ease Climate Change with Geoengineering?”

I read an article that stated that a geoengineering experiments been planned.

Scientists want to spray the sky with chemicals to block out the Sun in order to fight climate change.

Now I’m no scientist but I’ve felt the weather change immediately when there was a total eclipse.

The temperature fell as it grew darker and it felt really eerie. Also, I noticed all the animals and bugs were totally silent.

So, if the scientists want to hide the Sun’s rays from Earth, wouldn’t the temperature change on our planet that will then cause a different effect of some kind?

Don’t these scientists realise that the Sun helps our planet to grow by providing warmth and light, so why on earth would they want to destroy it or cause a bigger problem, especially to our health.

It would make more sense to stop man from destroying the planet’s surface rather than destroying mankind from the air?

But hey, I’m no scientist, I’m just a concerned human being.

The Giving Tree

I read the children’s picture book called, ‘The Giving Tree.’

This children’s book was written and illustrated by Shel Silverstein.

It’s tells a wonderful story of the love between a tree and a little boy.

As time goes by and the little boy grows up, tree see’s less of him.

Now as a man boy visits tree, but on each occasion, he asks tree for things.

Tree is so happy to see him, and loves the boy unconditionally she lets him take all of her apples to sell to make money. Then her branches to make him a house. Then later her trunk, so it can be made into a boat. Now tree is only a stump.

When I read this book, it was through tears. I found it very emotional, especially as the boy (now a man) took everything from tree that helped him to achieve his success.

The fact that he kept taking from the tree until the tree had nothing left to give was really unpleasant and disturbing, but unfortunately this scenario happens daily and I’m not talking about trees.

Some people give up everything they own to help others, whilst others just take, take, take. Which one are you?

This is a great book I’d truly recommend not just for children but for adults to read too.

In the meantime, be helpful and kind to others, for you never know when circumstances may change for you.

Are Earth’s Formation Theories Wrong?

The question is, “Are Earth’s Formation Theories Wrong?

I read an article recently about how the accepted Earth formation theories by Scientists could now be wrong.

Researchers had made further experiments and found there to be a miscalculation in the composition of our planet’s core and mantle.

So, if this is the case, how many other miscalculations has there been over the centuries?

Should we trust Scientists to understand or even know the answers?

Basically, we’re all to blame.

We trust in words written by those with letters after their names. We often forget that our first thought is usually the correct one, and so it’s easily dismissed if not in print, or written by theorists.

But I may have a solution.

Why don’t the Researchers and Scientists contact the Scientists at SLAC’s National Accelerator Laboratory?

I read an article that claimed that they had an optical laser that uses shock-waves to create high pressure in materials that can capture the response by an ultra-bright X ray laser.

If this was modified to suit Earth’s surface conditions without killing us all, then I’m sure the Researchers and Scientists could reveal what’s going on inside our planet and be better able to calculate what our planet’s core was really made up of.

Then we can re-write the science books like we do our history books.

But hey, I’m no scientist, what do you think?

Sharing a Shell

I read the children’s picture book last week called, ‘Sharing a Shell.’

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson, and is beautifully illustrated by Julia Monks.

This colorful children’s picture book is about a crab without a shell.

Without a shell, crab’s an easy target.

Chased by a bird, crab quickly finds an empty shell, then stays in a rock pool.

Happy that he has his own home he’s surprised to find an anemone attached to it, but then when a bristle worm wants gets inside the shell too he has a dilemma, what should he do?

Should he kick them out of his shell or see what they can do?

A great book that explains how some crabs live, and what an anemone and a bristle worm can do.

It’s educational and colorful, young children will surely enjoy it.

Why Is There A Super Computer In Space?

The question is, “Why Is There A Super Computer In Space?”

I read an article that stated SpaceX’s unmanned Dragon cargo vessel successfully delivered the first super-computer to the International Space Station.

This is a great achievement.

All they have to do now is wait and see if this super-computer can survive the harsh conditions of space.

Just think what the future holds for mankind. It could be used to navigate future space missions.

But, what if this super-computer fell into the wrong hands?

For example, if an alien species learnt of it, then invaded the International Space Station, what then?

With its vantage point in space Earth will surely be at risk don’t you think?

But hey, I’m no astronaut it’s just a thought.

Commotion in the Ocean

I read the children’s picture book called, ‘Commotion in the Ocean,’ a few days ago.

This children’s book was written by Giles Andrea.

It’s beautifully illustrated by David Wojtowycz.

This colorful rhyming picture book shows lots of different creatures that live at the bottom of the ocean.

On each page, not only is a creature shown but there is also a little rhyme.

I found some of the rhymes humorous, short, quirky and maybe a little scary.

It’s a great book with lots of creatures that the children can easily name that they’ll enjoy.
