I read the book
‘Amazing Grace’ the other afternoon which was written by Mary Hoffman, with
illustrations by Caroline Binch.
It’s a wonderful
story about a little girl called Grace that loves acting.
When a part in
the school play needs a Peter Pan, Grace Holds up her hand in confidence.
It’s only when
two of her class mates put obstacles in her way that she begins to doubt herself
as one inform her that she’s a girl, the other that he wasn't black.
Her loving family
tells her that she can be anything she wants if she puts her mind to it.
And with that
in mind Grace proves them both wrong and captures the lead role.
A child will
voice their opinion if something appears different to what they have seen
before and this book shows that.
The message in
this story shows that children are capable of becoming whatever they want to be
in life with encouragement from adults.
I would definitely
recommend reading this book.
So my final
thoughts are; you can be whatever you want to be, just work hard then you’ll
achieve it.
Read the book and
let me know what you think?
