I read the children’s
book called, ‘Owl Babies,’ the other day.
This book was written
by Martin Waddell, and illustrated by Patrick Benson.
It’s a delightful
story about three baby Owls.
When the three
baby Owls awake at night and find their mummy gone all they can do is wait, and
wonder what had happened to her?
Eventually she
returns to the nest, greeted happily by the waiting trio.
This is a
wonderful story with great illustrations, that I’d recommend reading to young
children.
My final
thought’s on this book is that it’s a lovely story of Owl vulnerability that
has a happy ending; although it does reflect many young children’s lives today,
for example, leaving a parent for their first day of pre-school and entering
unknown territory; being left at an unfamiliar building with teachers, and
having to make friends.
It’s quite a
lot for an adult when starting a new job; so think about how a small child must
feel when starting pre-school?
So read it now
or watch it on YouTube and tell me what you think?
