I read the book
called ‘Pete the Cat and his Magic Sunglasses,’ the other morning.
This book was created
and illustrated by James Dean. The story was written by Kimberley Dean.
It’s a delightful
story about a cat called Pete and some magical sunglasses.
The day is wet
and Pete is unhappy, but then his grumpy friend comes along and gives him some
magic sunglasses to try on that transforms his rainy day into a warm sunny one,
making him very happy indeed.
Everything
looks great, until the magic sunglasses break!
Then a wise owl
speaks and tells Pete that he didn’t need magic sunglasses to see things in a
new way; he just needed to remember to look for the good in everyday.
Pete soon
realized that what the owl had said was true, he looked around and is no longer
sad or blue.
The moral to
the story is a positive one, ‘To look for
the good in everyday.’
My final
thought’s on this book is; that it’s a great story for young children to read
that has a positive ending. Maybe we could all learn from reading it?
