I read the
children’s book called, ‘Dogger,’ the other morning.
This book was written
and illustrated by Shirley Hughes.
It’s a delightful
story about a little boy called Dave who loses his favourite stuffed toy dog,
but finds him again on a stall at the school summer fair.
But unfortunately
when a little girl buys the stuffed dog, Dave gets quiet upset.
His sister
offers to buy it back but the little girl wants to keep it; his sister shows an
act of kindness and swaps a large teddy that she’d won to get her little
brothers stuffed toy back.
It’s a
wonderful story with great illustrations I’d definitely recommend reading this
book to young children.
My final
thought’s on this book is that it shows the emotions of a young boy as he
looses his stuffed toy, and again when it’s found; a sad tale that ends on a
positive note.
And as most
children have a favourite stuffed animal, they could relate to this story.
So either read
it now or watch it on YouTube and tell me what you think?
