I read the book
‘The Snail and the Whale’ which was written by Julia Donaldson, with
illustrations by Axel Scheffler.
It’s a lovely
story about a grey blue hump back whale who takes a tiny snail around the world
on his tail.
But when the
whale gets into difficulties and gets beached onto the shore, the tiny snail must
get help.
Although it’s
hard when you’re tiny he leaves a snail trail which leads to their rescue and a
happy ending.
In my view a
great book for children to understand in just simple terms what happens to
whales if they come too close to the shore and what we can do to help.
It’s definitely
worth reading.
My final
thoughts on this book are that it’s a lovely book to read to young children,
slightly sad with a happy ending.
