The Gruffalo’s Child

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Gruffalo’s Child.’

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful children’s picture book that tells the tale of the big bad mouse.

After being warned about a big bad mouse living in the woods, the Gruffalo’s child gets curious.

Then one evening bored out of her mind she goes into the woods.

Inside, she meets many animals.

They each tell her something very scary about the big bad mouse.

So, what do you think happened when she found the big bad mouse?

To find out what happened next, why not read the book or watch the story on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think.

It’s a great book for young children they’d like it.

What’s A Squash And A Squeeze?

I read the children’s book called, ‘A Squash And A Squeeze.’

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful children’s picture book that tells the tale of a little old lady who grumbles about her small little house.

When a wise old man hears the little old lady moaning about how small her house was, he gives her some tips.

But after listening to the wise old man the little old lady ends up taking in all the farm animals leaving her no space in her small house to move.

What will she do next?

Can the wise man solve the problem or will the little old lady have to live like this forever?

To find out what happens in the end, why not read the book or watch it on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think.

It’s a great book for both young children and adults to read, very inspirational.

What's Your Favourite Book?

I read the children’s book called, ‘Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book,’ last week.

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful rhyming children’s picture book. It tells the tale of a boy called Charlie Cook who loves to read his favourite book about a leaky pirate ship.

However, the pirate story leads into many other fantastic stories, with each story ending with a favourite book.

This children’s book has a unique and interesting ending, but I’m not going to spoil it and tell you.

To find out what happens in the end, either read the book or watch it on YouTube then you can tell me what you think of Charlie’s Favourite Book and also tell me what your favourite book is.

This is a great book for young children that encourages imagination and creativity.

Tiddler

I read the children’s book called, ‘Tiddler,’ yesterday.

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson, and is beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s is a delightful children’s picture book that tells the tale of a tiny fish called Tiddler.

Tiddler was always late for school. He always arrived after Miss Skate had called the register.

With his big imagination, he told tall tales, to explain why he was so late.

Then one day he gets caught in a fishing net. Now on a real adventure he’s taken further out to sea.

How will he ever find his way back to the school, his teacher and his friends?

To find out what happens, why not read the book or watch it on YouTube, then you can tell me what you think.

It’s a great book for young children that encourages them not to tell tales.

Are Giants Smart?

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Smartest Giant in Town,’ the other morning.

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

This children’s book tells the wonderful story about a scruffy giant called George.

One day George buys some new clothes to make him look smart, but alas it’s short lived as within minutes he has given each of his new clothes away.

The story shows the caring nature and generosity of George towards others.

It’s a delightful book that I’d recommend reading with young children.

So let’s take a leaf out of George’s book and be kind to each other.

Now that’s what I call smart.

So why not read it now or watch it on YouTube and tell me what you think?

Is There Room On Your Broom?

I read the book called ‘Room on the Broom,’ the other morning.

This book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful rhyming story about a kind witch and her cat taking a ride on a broomstick.

However, when the wind blows off her hat, it starts a whole episode of mishaps.

But when she’s about to be eaten by a very hungry dragon, her camouflaged animal friends come to the rescue!

This is a wonderful story for young children, encouraging friendship and sharing.

My final thought on this lovely illustrated book is that it’s a great story for young children to read that ends on a positive note.

The moral of the story in this book is to ‘Be kind to others and they will return the favour.’

Read it now or watch it on YouTube and tell me what you think?

When A Snail Saves The Day?

I read the book ‘The Snail and the Whale’ which was written by Julia Donaldson, with illustrations by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a lovely story about a grey blue hump back whale who takes a tiny snail around the world on his tail.

But when the whale gets into difficulties and gets beached onto the shore, the tiny snail must get help.

Although it’s hard when you’re tiny he leaves a snail trail which leads to their rescue and a happy ending.

In my view a great book for children to understand in just simple terms what happens to whales if they come too close to the shore and what we can do to help.

It’s definitely worth reading.

My final thoughts on this book are that it’s a lovely book to read to young children, slightly sad with a happy ending.

Read it now and tell me what you think?

A Very Puzzled Monkey?

I read this popular children’s story book called ‘Monkey Puzzle’ to my grandson the other day.

It’s written by Julia Donaldson and beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

This delightful children’s story is about a little monkey who has lost his mum in the forest.

When a butterfly tries to help he always gets it wrong, introducing the wrong animals along the way.

I wonder if the little monkey will ever find his mum.

It’s a wonderful book for young children and my grandson loves listening to me read this book to him.

Afterwards we look through the pages together to find other insects and bugs in amongst the beautifully illustrated pages.

The rhyming storyline is great and I’d definitely recommend this book for young children.

My final thoughts on this book are that it’s sad but has a happy ending children will love it. If you look closely daddy monkey has been eating the fruit, I wonder if he’s left any for the little monkey?

Read it and tell me what you think?
