I read the book
‘Harold and the Purple Crayon,’ the other morning which was written by Crockett
Johnson.
It’s a delightful
story about a little boy called Harold.
When Harold
decides to go for a walk in the moonlight, he begins by drawing the sights with
a large purple crayon.
Then as his
imagination grows so does his adventure!
From a forest
consisting of one apple tree and a dragon to guard it; to flying in a hot air
balloon and eating pie!
All he desires
at the end is to find his window and his bed to sleep in.
It’s a lovely story
that I’d recommend reading to younger children especially at bedtime.
The moral in this
story is to ‘Never give a child crayons
before bedtime!’
My final
thought’s on this book is; that it encourages imagination and creativity.
Now where did I
put those crayons!
Read it now or
watch it on YouTube and tell me what you think?
