How To Have A Peaceful Sleep?

I read the children’s book called ‘Peace at Last,’ the other morning.

This book was written and illustrated by Jill Murphy

It’s a lovely book telling the story of a very tired bear.

When Mr Bear tries to sleep in the house, he finds that every room is noisy.
Deciding to sleep in the garden, he finds that it’s also too noisy. Finally just as he’s about to fall asleep, the alarm clock goes off and wakes him up!

Don’t you just hate that feeling?

I’d recommend you read this book to young children at bedtime. It’s also wonderfully illustrated.

I have two possible solutions for Mr Bear’s sleeping problem. He could go to bed early or make sure he falls asleep before Mrs Bear does!

Read the book or watch the video on YouTube, then you’ll know what I mean.

Is There Room On Your Broom?

I read the book called ‘Room on the Broom,’ the other morning.

This book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful rhyming story about a kind witch and her cat taking a ride on a broomstick.

However, when the wind blows off her hat, it starts a whole episode of mishaps.

But when she’s about to be eaten by a very hungry dragon, her camouflaged animal friends come to the rescue!

This is a wonderful story for young children, encouraging friendship and sharing.

My final thought on this lovely illustrated book is that it’s a great story for young children to read that ends on a positive note.

The moral of the story in this book is to ‘Be kind to others and they will return the favour.’

When she hears two crafty thieves planning to steal something from the farm, she tells the other farm animals and they devise a plan to catch them.

Cheap Jeep For Sale?

I read the book called ‘Sheep in a Jeep,’ the other morning.

This book was written by Nancy Shaw and illustrated by Margot Apple.

It’s a comical rhyming story about five sheep in a Jeep.

When five sheep take a drive in a Jeep it’s not the delightful ride they were all hoping for and ends up badly when the driver sheep forgets to steer!

I’d recommend that you read this delightful rhyming book, it’s sure to put a smile on your face.

My final thought’s on this book is; that it’s a lovely story for children with fun illustrations.

The moral of the story in this book is ‘Never let sheep drive!’

Why Use A Purple Crayon?

I read the book ‘Harold and the Purple Crayon,’ the other morning which was written by Crockett Johnson.

It’s a delightful story about a little boy called Harold.

When Harold decides to go for a walk in the moonlight, he begins by drawing the sights with a large purple crayon.

Then as his imagination grows so does his adventure!

From a forest consisting of one apple tree and a dragon to guard it; to flying in a hot air balloon and eating pie!

All he desires at the end is to find his window and his bed to sleep in.

It’s a lovely story that I’d recommend reading to younger children especially at bedtime.

The moral in this story is to ‘Never give a child crayons before bedtime!’

My final thought’s on this book is; that it encourages imagination and creativity.

Now where did I put those crayons!

Do Cats Prefer White Shoes?

I read the book called ‘Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes,’ one afternoon.

This book was created and illustrated by James Dean. The story was written by Eric Litwin.

It’s a delightful story about a cat called Pete and his brand new white shoes.

Pete’s wearing his brand new white shoes and as he walks along singing about his lovely white shoes its not long before he steps into something!

However that doesn’t faze him and as his shoes change colour he continues to walk-along and sing.

The moral of the story in this book is that ‘No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song because it’s all good’! Adults take note.

My final thought’s on this book is; that it has a great storyline, it’s a fun and an entertaining read for young children and adults.
