Do Robotic Bee’s Exist?

The question is, “Do Robotic Bee’s Exist?”

Inspired by insects, it appears that researchers have designed a robotic bee, named ‘RoboBee.’

Not only can it fly, dive and swim but it can also launch itself out of the water.

Although the capabilities are on a tiny scale, it’s incredible that this tiny robotic insect can do these things.

What next?

Maybe the researchers could scale up and create a robotic machine the size of a jumbo jet, that could do similar things.

With robotic technology moving so fast, and with robots in high demand to aid defence, space exploration etc. I expect that this is just a small part of what’s already out there.

Now I’m not saying it’s not great what these robotic researchers can create a working being from nothing, but once these robots can think for themselves then we’re gonna be in serious trouble.

For I believe that one day, robots will lead and humans will follow.

But hey, I’m no robotics expert.

What do you think?

What's Your Favourite Book?

I read the children’s book called, ‘Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book,’ last week.

This children’s book was written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

It’s a delightful rhyming children’s picture book. It tells the tale of a boy called Charlie Cook who loves to read his favourite book about a leaky pirate ship.

However, the pirate story leads into many other fantastic stories, with each story ending with a favourite book.

This children’s book has a unique and interesting ending, but I’m not going to spoil it and tell you.

To find out what happens in the end, either read the book or watch it on YouTube then you can tell me what you think of Charlie’s Favourite Book and also tell me what your favourite book is.

This is a great book for young children that encourages imagination and creativity.

What’s A Fungus Eating Plastic Called?

The question is, “What’s a fungus eating plastic called?”

We generate several tons of waste a day and plastic’s the major pollutant and cannot be broken break down easily or in an environmental friendly way.

However, the answer to rid ourselves of this plastic pollutant may here already, as samples taken from a rubbish dump outside Islamabad in Pakistan showed a soil fungus feeding on plastic.

It’s called ‘Aspergillus Tubingensis.’

A fungus that lives in soil that seems to have a taste for plastic.

This is great news for the planet, but let’s hope it doesn’t get a taste for rubber.

“Great, there goes my wheels.”  (tyres for those who don’t get it)

It makes you wonder what the other funguses eat?

So, what do you think?

The Somethingosaur

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Somethingosaur,’ last week.

This children’s picture book was written by Tony Mitton and illustrated by Russell Atto.

This delightful rhyming children’s picture book is about a lonely egg that hatches in a swamp.

What comes out of the egg is an unusual small creature that begins to search for his mum.

He travels high and low, and in the waste and the wild, until he finally finds her.

Now, he knows what type of creature he really is, and it wasn’t a Somethingosaur!

It’s a great book with a lovely story that children will like.

So, to find out what the small creature turned out to be, either read the book or watch it on YouTube. Then you can tell me what you think.

Is There An Electricity Accelerator On Jupiter?

The question is, “Is there an electricity accelerator on Jupiter?”

When we watch the natural light display of an aurora or northern lights as commonly known on Earth. We understand that they’re caused by electrically charged particles that are colliding with our planet Earth’s magnetic field.

Jupiter also showcases beautiful auroras. However, in September 2017 researchers detected a much a higher voltage in their light displays between 10 to 30 times higher than on Earth.

So, could we be looking at Jupiter all wrong?

Maybe it’s not just a planet.

Could it be a high voltage battery charger in space that can re-charge extra-terrestrial spacecrafts?

As UFO’s (Unidentified Flying Objects) and USO’s (Unidentified Submerged Objects) come to Earth frequently they must need to re-fuel with energy to continue their flight home.

But hey I’m no scientist, what do you think?

The Heart and the Bottle

I read the children’s book called, ‘The Heart and the Bottle,’ yesterday afternoon.

This children’s picture book was written by Oliver Jeffers.

This delightful children’s picture book is about a small girl that’s curious about the world. She also likes finding new things.

A small girl’s curiosity gets the better of her when she finds an empty chair. It makes her sad.

She’s so sad that she puts her heart into a glass bottle and wears it round her neck, but then it changed her.

She wasn’t curious anymore.

That was until she met someone small. Then she decided to get her heart back, but she didn’t know how to remove it from the bottle for she was now grown and could no longer remember.

It’s a beautiful story that encourages us to remain curious to all things even as we get older.

The story has a lovely ending.

Are you curious enough to find out what happens next?

If so, then either read the book or watch it on YouTube. Then you can tell me what you think.
